Site Content ACWLC Supports The Second Amendment Resolution # 002 Ashe County Wildlife Club 3220 Big Peak Creek Rd., Laurel Springs, NC (Presented to the Ashe County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 21, 2020) (The Commission voted to make Ashe County a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary County, following the lead of Virginia's counties after its state legislature passed a number of anti-gun laws) Resolution on supporting efforts to protect the rights given by the Second Amendment of the US Constitution. We, the undersigned, being directors of the Ashe County Wildlife Club (ACWC) consent and agree that the following resolution was made on January 20, 2020 at the semi-monthly Board meeting: Whereas the vast majority of the 250 plus members of the Ashe County Wildlife Club (ACWC) strongly believe that the Second Amendment of the US Constitution gives individuals the right to keep and bear arms; Whereas we consider any infringement upon the Second Amendment to be an infringement upon the whole and upon our right to keep and bear arms; and Whereas some States and local governments are enacting regulations that are detrimental to our Second Amendments rights; now therefore, be it Resolved that the Ashe County Wildlife Club (ACWC): 1. supports and defends efforts to protect individual rights given us by the Second Amendment; 2. supports and defends programs and legislation that prevents any infringement upon Second Amendment rights; and 3. encourages and supports government agencies that enact legislation that protects Second Amendment rights including a ”second amendment sanctuary” resolution RES 20-2 by the Ashe County Board of Commissioners. The officers of this corporation are authorized to perform acts to carry out this resolution. Visitors are always welcome to shoot with us during our regular shooting events found on our Calendar page. The range is 15 miles east of Jefferson, off of N.C. 88.
